United Nations response to the Dr Hilary Cass report on the treatment of Gender Dysphoria and young people in the UK

The UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls, Reem Alsalem, today welcomed the recent commitment by the UK Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to implement recommendations contained in the Independent Review of gender identity services for children and young people (Cass Review), and announcements by NHS Scotland and the Welsh Government that they would suspend the prescription of puberty blockers to children in the wake of the report’s findings.

Bondi Junction Stabbing 13.4.2024

A man with a history of mental health difficulties attacked shoppers with a knife in a large shopping mall in Bondi Junction, Sydney. So far six people have died – many in the prime of their adult lives – and a number of others including a young child have been seriously wounded. We acknowledge and thank those members of the public and the first responders who bravely limited the extent of the attack.
